Srinagar, Nov 02: An encounter has started between militants and joint team of security forces in Khanyar area of Srinagar this morning.
Reports reaching ANH said that a cordon-and-search operation was launched in khanyar following an input about the presence of militants.
They said as the joint team of approached the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them triggering an encounter.

As per sources one or two militants are believed to be trapped.
Meanwhile, Kashmir Police on X said, “A cordon & search operation in Khanyar area of district Srinagar has resulted in an exchange of fire. Police & security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow.”
