Srinagar, Jan 29: A gunfight broke out between militants and security forces in mandoora village of Tral area of Pulwama district in south Kashmir.
Reports reaching ANH said that a joint team of police, 42 Rashtriya Rifles (RR), and Central Reserved Police Force (CRPF) launched a cordon and search operation on specific information gathered by the police about the presence of militants in the area.
Reports added, as the joint team of forces cordoned the suspected spot, the hiding militants were first asked to surrender but they fired upon the search party, who retaliated, therefore triggering an encounter.

As per the sources, two to three militants are believed to be trapped in the area.
