Sopore, Nov 7: An encounter has started between terrorists and joint team of security forces in Panipora village of Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district this evening.
Reports reaching ANH said that a cordon-and-search operation was launched by joint team of security forces in Panipora village of Sopore, following credible inputs about the presence of terrorists in the area.
They said as the joint team of security forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding terrorists fired upon them triggering an encounter.

“On 07 Nov 24, based on specific intelligence regarding presence of terrorists, a joint Operation launched by the #IndianArmy & @JmuKmrPolice in Panipura, Sopore, #Baramulla. Suspicious activity was observed by vigilant troops and on being challenged terrorists opened indiscriminate fire. Own troops effectively retaliated. Operation is in progress,” Chinar Corps informed on X.
