Shopian, Sept 12: An encounter broke out between security forces and militants in heff shermal area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district on Monday afternoon.
Report reaching The Asian News Hub (ANH) said that joint team of security forces launched a Cordon-and-Search operation (CASO) after receiving information about the presence of militants in the area.
They said that as the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them triggering an encounter.
“Encounter has started at Heff Shirmal area of Shopian. Police and security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow,” Kashmir Zone Police tweeted.
