A driver lost his life while a couple sustained injuries after a Maruti van rammed into a stationary shop in Lal Chowk area of Srinagar on Thursday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Javaid Ahmad, a resident of Bemina. The injured have been identified as Abdul Qayoom Zora and his wife Shaheena, residents of Khyam.
According to reports, the Maruti van lost control and crashed into a shop. Soon after the incident, police and locals rushed to the spot and shifted all the injured to SMHS Hospital, where Javaid Ahmad was declared dead on arrival, while the injured couple is currently undergoing treatment.

Meanwhile, police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated further investigation to ascertain the exact cause of the crash.
