Div Com Kashmir facilitates Covid warriors at DCCR Srinagar

Calls for continuing fight against coronavirus

(Asian News Hub) – The Divisional Commissioner (Div Com) Kashmir, Pandurang K Pole today felicitated Covid-19 warriors at Divisional Covid Control Room (DCCR), Srinagar.

Those felicitated include DC Shopian, former In-charge DCCR, Shrikant Balasahib Suse, Director Health Services Kashmir, Dr Samir Mattoo, Registrar Academics/ Hospital Coordinator Kashmir Div, Dr Waseem Qureshi, Dr Talat Jabeen, Epidemiologist/ SSO Kashmir, Deputy Director, Dentistry, Dr Jahan Zaib, In charge DCCR, Tahir Ahmad Magray, Public Health Advisor, Dr Rabbanie Tariq, Incharge Red Zone, Dr Rouf Hussain, In-charge ISM, Dr Iftikhar Gazi, Dr Noor Anjum Incharge Contact Tracing and other scores of doctors and various other officers and officials as Covid-warriors.

On the occasion, Div Com gave away certificates to covid warriors for their tireless work during the pandemic making it possible to contain the virus.

Speaking on the occasion, the Div Com appreciated all doctors, officers and officials at DCCR for their tremendous work in containing the spread of coronavirus.

He praised all for maintaining the DCCR and said that the successful functioning of the DCCR Srinagar has found its place in the Niti Ayog’s magazine which is actually the result of coordinated efforts and tireless work performed by all associated with the Control Room.

He said that though the virus has been controlled to a large extent in the valley, however, the need is to continue to fight against it as it is still prevailing in various parts of the world.

He said that with the functioning of DCCR  the pandemic situation was dealt smoothly within the available resources in Kashmir as every officer/officials worked with utmost determination and dedication while performing his/her duties during the pandemic.

Meanwhile, Dr Talat expressed her gratitude to the Divisional Administration in her welcome address while as In-charge DCCR, Tahir Ahmad Magray presented the vote of thanks on the occasion.

‘Militant associate’ arrested in Kupwara; 10 grenades, 182 bullets recovered

(Asian News Hub) – Army and police have recovered ten grenades and 182 rounds of Ak-47 rifle from a militant associate who was arrested in Kralpora area in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, official sources said on Tuesday.

They said army 160 Territorial Army and SOG Kralpora arrested the “militant associate” Abdul Ahad Lone based on specific information. “10 grenades and 182 Ak-47 rounds” have been recovered from his possession.They said middle-aged man was associated with Al-Badr formerly.

A police officer confirmed the arrest and said that further investigations are underway.

Three unidentified militants killed in Anantnag

(Asian News Hub) – Three unidentified militants have been killed in an encounter that raged between government forces and militants in Vailoo area of Kokernag belt in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Tuesday.

A senior police officer told that three unidentified militants have been killed whose identification is being ascertained while as operation is on in the area.

He said the militants turned down repeated surrender offers given to them by government forces.

Earlier, an official said that a joint team of Police, Army’s 19 RR and CRPF launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) on specific information about the presence of militants in the area.

He said that as the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them, which was retaliated, triggering an encounter.

Pertinently, 46 militants have been killed in J&K so far this year and most of them belong to Shopian district.
