The arrest was made in response to a case of online harassment, underlining the police’s firm stance on cybercrimes, particularly those targeting women.

The Kashmir Cyber Police, in a tweet on X (formerly Twitter), said their “zero tolerance” policy for crimes against women, as they urged the public to stay vigilant and report any such incidents.

“@Cyberpolicekmr has arrested an accused from Siwal Khas, Meerut (UP), for transmitting sexually explicit content of a victim on social media and blackmailing her. We reiterate our ZERO TOLERANCE for crimes against women.”
