Anantnag, Jan 24: A Cotton factory suffered heavy damage in a fire incident at Kulghad area of Achabal in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
Reports said that fire broke out in the unit in wee hours on Sunday morning and engulfed the building, the unit belongs to Nazir Ahmad Zagoo of Kulghad achabal area of Anantnag district.
The locals unsuccessfully tried to douse the fire. Later fire tenders reached the spot and doused the flames but couldn’t save the factory.
The cause of the fire is believed to be a short circuit. Police have taken cognizance of the incident, however, no loss of life or injury was reported in the incident.
