Ceasefire Intact, No DGMO Talks Scheduled Today: Indian Army Clarifies Amid Media Speculations

New Delhi, May 18: Amid reports in some sections of the media suggesting that the ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan is ending today, the Indian Army has issued a clarification denying any such development.

According to official sources, there are no Director General of Military Operations (DGMO)-level talks scheduled for today. Responding to media queries, the Army reiterated that the understanding reached during the DGMOs’ interaction on May 12 regarding a break in hostilities does not have an expiry date.

“The ceasefire continues as agreed upon. There is no scheduled DGMO interaction today,” Army sources said, putting to rest speculation around the status of the border truce.

“Some media houses are reporting that the ceasefire between India and Pakistan is ending today. In addition, queries are also being received if a DGMO-level talk is scheduled today. According to the Indian Army, no DGMO talks are scheduled today. As far as the continuation of a break in hostilities as decided in the DGMOs interaction of 12th May is concerned, there is no expiry date to it,” ANI on X.
