Kulgam, Nov 20: A 40-year-old carpenter died on Thursday after falling from the rooftop of a school building in Balsoo area of Kulgam, officials said.
The deceased has been identified as Shahnawaz Ahmad Bhat, son of Gull Mohammad Bhat, a resident of Kharbrari.
According to officials, he slipped while working on the rooftop and sustained critical injuries. He was immediately shifted to District Hospital Kulgam, where doctors declared him brought dead.

Police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated further proceedings.
This tragedy comes just a day after another carpenter died in a similar fall in Nanibugh, raising fresh concerns over safety at construction sites in the district. (KNT)
