Trusting the offer, the man transferred a substantial amount of money to the accused’s bank account and also spent additional money on travel arrangements and other related expenses.
However, after reaching Cambodia, he was allegedly received by unknown persons, and instead of being given the promised job, he was reportedly forced to take part in fraudulent online activities.
Officials said the complainant refused to cooperate and later realised that he had been cheated and his money taken under false promises.
During preliminary investigation, police found that the allegations disclose offences punishable under Section 318(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
