Washington, April 19: In a post on Truth Social, US President Donald Trump claimed that Iran breached a ceasefire agreement by opening fire in the Strait of Hormuz, alleging that several shots were directed at a French vessel and a freighter from the United Kingdom.
Trump said a team of American representatives would travel to Islamabad, Pakistan, and arrive by tomorrow evening for negotiations related to the escalating regional situation.

He further claimed that Iran’s announcement to close the Strait of Hormuz was ineffective, alleging that a US blockade had already disrupted the passage.
According to Trump, the closure of the strategic waterway was costing Iran around 500 million dollars a day, while asserting that the United States was facing no losses.
He also said that ships were now heading to Texas, Louisiana and Alaska to load supplies, which he linked to recent developments involving Iran’s Revolutionary Guard.
Using sharp language, Trump said the United States was offering a fair and reasonable deal, but warned that if Iran refused, Washington would target power plants and bridges inside Iran.
