A 16-year-old boy, who was critically injured after suffering an electric shock while taking photographs atop a train at Budgam railway station, has died at SMHS Hospital, officials said on Monday.
The deceased has been identified as Reyan Ahamed, son of Shameem Ahmad Dar, a resident of Marajpora Batmaloo in Srinagar.
Hospital sources said Reyan was admitted in a critical condition after the incident but succumbed to his injuries despite medical treatment.

The incident occurred recently when Reyan Ahamed and another youth, Arbaz Ahmad, reportedly climbed atop a stationary train at Budgam railway station. They accidentally came into contact with an overhead electric line, resulting in severe electrocution injuries.
Both youths were rushed to the hospital for treatment. Reyan Ahamed died this morning, while the condition of the other injured youth is being monitored. (KNT)
