A guest house was damaged in a fire incident near Dal Lake, opposite Ghat No. 1, in Srinagar on Saturday morning. One person was injured in the incident, while no loss of life was reported.
Officials said a fire call was received at the State Fire Control Room, Batamaloo, at around 8:41 am. Fire and Emergency Services teams rushed to the spot and started firefighting operations immediately. Due to the congested location, additional fire tenders were also pressed into service.
The fire affected a three-storeyed guest house, identified as Dal Fog, causing heavy damage to the building. Firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control in time, preventing it from spreading to nearby structures.

Preliminary investigation has ruled out an electrical short circuit as the cause of the fire. Further investigation is underway to ascertain the exact reason behind the incident.
Officials confirmed that one person sustained injuries in the fire and was shifted for medical treatment. No casualties were reported.
