The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has forecast rain and snowfall across Jammu and Kashmir from January 22 to 25, with light to moderate precipitation expected at most places.
The MeT department said the weather will turn generally cloudy from the evening of January 22. During January 23 and 24, there is a possibility of heavy snowfall in South Kashmir, while parts of the Chenab Valley and Pir Panjal range may also witness intense rain or snow.
An advisory has been issued warning of gusty winds and chances of landslides at vulnerable locations. Travellers have been advised to plan their journeys carefully during January 23 and 24 and follow traffic and administration advisories.

Farmers have been advised to suspend farm operations during the wet spell. The MeT department added that light rain or snowfall may continue at scattered places on January 26.
