A fire that broke out in the Pandan Nowhatta area of Srinagar on Thursday evening damaged three residential houses, while one firefighter and two civilians were injured during the operation.
Officials from Jammu and Kashmir Fire and Emergency Services said the fire call was received by the State Fire Control Room at 4:38 PM, following which fire tenders were rushed to the spot. The firefighting operation has now been completed, and the situation is under control.
Deputy Director F&ES Dr. Mir Aqib Hussain, along with Mobilising Officer Aijaz Ahmad Shah and officers from DFO Headquarters, supervised and coordinated the operation on the ground.

During the firefighting efforts, SG Nazir Ahmad of Fire Station Rainawari sustained injuries, while two civilians also suffered minor injuries. All the injured were shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment, where their condition is stated to be stable.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
