New Delhi, Nov 16: In a major breakthrough in the Red Fort area car bomb blast case, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested Pampore resident who allegedly conspired with the suicide bomber to execute the terror attack that claimed 10 innocent lives and left 32 others injured.
The arrested accused, Amir Rashid Ali, in whose name the car used in the blast was registered, was taken into custody from Delhi following a massive search operation initiated after the NIA took over the probe from Delhi Police.
NIA investigations have revealed that Amir, a resident of Samboora, Pampore in Jammu & Kashmir, had conspired with the deceased suicide bomber Umar Un Nabi to carry out the attack. Amir had travelled to Delhi to facilitate the purchase of the vehicle later used as a vehicle-borne Improvised Explosive Device (IED).
