New Delhi, Nov 11: Member of Parliament from Baramulla, Er Rashid, has announced a two-day hunger strike inside Tihar Jail to protest the loss of lives in the Delhi blast on November 10 and to express concern over reports of educated Kashmiris, including doctors, being involved in acts of violence.
In a handwritten letter addressed to the Director General of Prisons, New Delhi, Rashid stated that the hunger strike will begin on November 12, 2025, at 9 AM, inside his Tihar Jail cell.

He said his protest aims to remind fellow Kashmiris that society cannot afford to lose young and educated people to violence. “Violence has no place in a civilized society,” Rashid wrote, urging all stakeholders to give genuine peace a chance and appealing to Kashmiri youth to understand the “worst ramifications of violence.”
Quoting Mahatma Gandhi, the MP added, “If I have to make a choice between supporting violence or being called a coward, I would like to be called a coward.”
