New Delhi, Nov 10: Delhi Police Commissioner Satish Golcha on Monday said that the explosion near the Red Fort took place in a slow-moving vehicle that had stopped at a red light.
“Today at around 6:52 pm, a slow-moving vehicle stopped at the red light. An explosion happened in that vehicle, and due to the explosion, nearby vehicles were also damaged,” the Commissioner told reporters at the scene.
He said all investigation agencies, including the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) and the National Investigation Agency (NIA), are present at the spot.

“Some people have died, and some have been injured in the incident. The situation is being closely monitored. The Home Minister has also called us, and information is being shared with him from time to time,” Golcha added.
The area has been cordoned off, and forensic experts are examining the damaged vehicles to determine the cause of the blast, he added.
