Sopore, Oct 20: A tragic road accident occurred near Model Town Sopore on Monday evening, leaving one person dead and another critically injured after a speeding truck hit them.
According to reports, the victims both private employees of a contractor working at the Municipal toll Sopore were struck by a fast-moving truck while on duty.
One of the victims, identified as Bilal Ahmad, a resident of Syedpora Sopore, died on the spot. The second victim, Shahid Ahmad from Nayidhal Sopore, sustained critical injuries and was referred to GMC Baramulla for treatment.

Police have registered a case and started an investigation into the incident.
