Srinagar, Oct 15: Srinagar Police have arrested three individuals accused of carrying out an axe attack in the Qamarwari area that left one youth injured late Tuesday evening.
Police said the victim, identified as Noman Yaqoob Khanday, was attacked with an axe by unidentified persons in Qamarwari on Tuesday night. Following the incident, police launched a swift investigation and tracked down the suspects using both technical and field surveillance.
The arrested accused have been identified as Sahil Yaqoob Grustoo, son of Mohammad Yaqoob Grustoo; Farooq alias Farhan Ahmad Dar, son of Ghulam Nabi Dar; and Bilal Ahmad Guroo, son of Zahoor Ahmad Guroo — all residents of Boatman Colony, Bemina.

According to police, the weapon used in the attack has been recovered from the possession of the accused. The trio were apprehended during coordinated overnight raids conducted by multiple police teams.
Officials said legal proceedings have been initiated under relevant sections of law, and further investigation is underway to determine the motive behind the attack.
