Anantnag, Sept 26: Five people were seriously injured after separate wild animal attacks in the Dooru area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Friday morning.
Locals said a black bear came out of nearby fields and attacked four villagers in Kralmad and Wavthar. The injured were identified as Saja Banoo, Ghulam Mohammad Bhat, Sabzar Ahmad Seh and Abdul Rasheed. In another incident at Manzmoh, a leopard attacked Bashir Ahmad Dar.
All the injured have been admitted to Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag, where doctors said their condition is critical.

Wildlife officials said shrinking forests and food waste near villages are forcing animals to enter human areas more often. Police and wildlife teams are keeping watch in the affected villages. (KNT)
