New Delhi, Sept 24: Delhi Police has booked a self-styled godman, Swami Chaitanyananda Saraswati alias Parth Sarthy, after several girl students of a Delhi management institute accused him of sexual harassment. The accused is still on the run despite police raids and surveillance.
The complaint was filed on August 4 at Vasant Kunj North Police Station. Police said Saraswati is a member of the institute’s management committee.
During the inquiry, statements of 32 female PGDM (Post Graduate Diploma in Management) students under the EWS scholarship at Sri Sharada Institute of Indian Management were recorded. Out of them, 17 said that Saraswati used abusive language, sent vulgar messages, and made unwanted physical advances.

Police also said that some faculty members and administrators pressured students to follow his demands. A case was registered under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Later, 16 victims gave statements before a magistrate.
During the probe, police also recovered a Volvo car with a fake diplomatic number plate — 39 UN 1 — from the institute’s basement. Another FIR was filed on August 25, and the vehicle was seized.
Officials confirmed that the accused has been absconding since then. (PTI)
