Islamabad, Sept 02: Torrential rains and floods have claimed more than 835 lives across Pakistan over the past two months, with nearly half a million people displaced in the eastern parts of the country after rivers burst their banks.
Officials said more than 100 people are still missing in northern Pakistan, where flash floods have killed at least 360 people since Friday, including in Pakistan-administered Kashmir.
In Punjab, authorities reported an unprecedented situation as all three major rivers overflowed simultaneously for the first time in the country’s history.

The transboundary rivers, which flow from India into Punjab, have swollen to record levels, inundating more than 2,300 villages and leaving thousands homeless.
