Pulwama, Aug 20: Pulwama Police cracked a hit-and-run case within hours after a woman lost her life in a tragic road accident near Gudoora Bridge.
According to media statement, Police Post Newa received information about a motorcycle accident involving an unknown vehicle. The pillion rider, identified as Raja Begum, a resident of Looswani, sustained critical injuries. She was rushed to District Hospital Pulwama, where doctors declared her brought dead.
A case was registered at Police Station Pulwama, and a special investigation team was formed. By examining CCTV footage and gathering local inputs, the team was able to trace the vehicle—a blue three-wheeler auto load carrier. The vehicle was seized the same day.
Police said the driver of the vehicle was found to be a minor. In accordance with legal procedures under the Juvenile Justice Act, he has not been detained. Further legal action is underway.
The investigation was carried out by officials from Police Post Newa and PS Pulwama under the supervision of SSP Pulwama, PD Nitya.
