Srinagar, July 24: A delegation of the Dental Surgeons Association, led by President Dr. Imtiyaz Mantoo, met Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today to highlight the persistent issue of dental surgeon unemployment in Jammu and Kashmir, which has remained unresolved for the past 16 years.
The delegation, comprising Dr. Farhan, Dr. Sobiya, and Dr. Tanveer, apprised the CM of the repeated rejection of recruitment files over the years, primarily due to financial constraints. They emphasized that this is not merely about job creation, but about restoring the dignity and value of the dental profession in the region.
“It is not just about employment, it’s about the dignity of our profession. Aspirants are going through an extremely tough time, many have crossed the age limit, and morale is at an all-time low,” said Dr. Mantoo.
