Dhaka, July 22: The death toll in the Bangladesh Air Force fighter jet crash at Milestone School and College in Dhaka’s Uttara area has risen to 27, including 25 children, according to the latest official update.
Sayedur Rahman, Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser on Health and Family Welfare, confirmed that many of the children were under the age of 12 and suffered severe burn injuries. The other two victims include the pilot and a female schoolteacher.
“So far, 20 bodies have been handed over to their families. The condition of some of the injured remains extremely critical,” said Rahman.
In the aftermath of the tragedy, the Bangladesh Army has been deployed at the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery in Dhaka to control crowd movement and ensure security.
Authorities are continuing rescue, treatment, and investigation efforts, while the government has assured full support to the victims and their families.
