Srinagar, Jun 28: A local cable operator lost his life after receiving a fatal electric shock while working on electric pole in Zewan Panthachowk area of Srinagar outskirts this afternoon.
Reports said that 35-year-old Bilal Ahmad Wani, son of Mohammad Rajab Wani, a resident of Zewan Pantha Chowk, was working on an electric pole when he reportedly came in contact with a live wire. The electric shock caused him to fall from the pole, leaving him critically injured.

Locals immediately rushed him to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Pampore for urgent medical attention. However, despite the efforts, doctors at the hospital declared him brought dead.
Police have taken cognizance of the incident and started investigations.
