Srinagar, May 23: A minor boy is feared to have drowned in the Jhelum near Goripora, Srinagar, after he went missing. River Police Srinagar have launched a rescue operation following reports.
Reports said that 12 to 13-year-old boy, Aenayat Ahmad Ganie (also known as Aniq), son of Gulam Mohmad Ganie, a resident of Goripora Palpora, has been missing since May 22.
According to official sources, a report was received about a boy suspected to have drowned in the River Jhelum near Goripora Pump Station, Noorbagh. In response, a team from the River Police Post Peer Zoo rushed to the location with a motorboat to initiate a search and rescue operation.

Efforts are ongoing to trace the missing boy. Authorities have urged anyone with information to come forward.
