Srinagar, May 21: A fire broke out on Tuesday evening in Yechpora Dangarpora area of Nawa Kadal, Srinagar, damaging at least five residential houses.
Reports said that fire started suddenly and spread quickly because the houses are very close to each other. Firefighters, along with local police, worked for several hours and managed to control the fire.
Five residential house were damaged during the fire, luckily, no one was hurt, but many families have lost their homes and belongings, they said.

Police have taken cognizance of the incident and cause of fire was not immediately known.
Local people have requested the administration to give quick support and compensation.
