Srinagar, May 16: Professor Nilofer Khan has been reappointed as the Vice Chancellor of the University of Kashmir for a period of two years.
In an official order signed by the Chancellor of the University of Kashmir and Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, states that Prof. Nilofer Khan will serve a second term of two years, starting from May 19, 2025. This reappointment comes as she completes her current term as Vice Chancellor.
The reappointment has been made under Section 12(5) of the Kashmir and Jammu Universities Act, 1969. The official communication has been sent to key administrative and educational authorities, including the Chief Secretary, Financial Commissioner, UGC Secretary, and Registrar of the University.

Prof. Nilofer Khan, who became the first woman Vice Chancellor of the University of Kashmir in 2022, will continue to lead the institution through her extended term.
