Anantnag, May 14: District Police Anantnag is continuing its strong action against drugs. In recent actions, the police have caught four drug peddlers including two women in separate cases and recovered heroin-like substances from them, police said in a statement.
They said, in the first case, a well-known woman drug peddler, Khushbu Jan, daughter of Farooq Ahmad Sheikh, resident of Bangidar, was caught near Bangidar Bridge with 07 grams of heroin-like substance. An FIR (No. 100/2025) under section 8/21 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Anantnag Police Station, and investigation is going on.
In another case, two people – Nargis, wife of Mohammad Ali, resident of Bawana JJ Colony, Delhi-39, and Mohammad Irfan, son of Mohammad Jehangir Khan, resident of Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh – were arrested with 03 grams and 06 grams of heroin-like substances. For this case, FIR No. 104/2025 under section 8/21 NDPS Act has been registered at Anantnag Police Station. Further investigation is in progress,they said.

In the third case, Ishfaq Ahmad Hajam, son of Gul Mohammad Hajam, resident of Saidwara, Dooru Shahabad, was arrested with 06 grams of heroin-like substance. FIR No. 105/2025 under section 8/21 NDPS Act has been registered at Anantnag Police Station, and police are investigating.
