India Confirms Ceasefire Agreement with Pakistan Following DGMO-Level Talks

New Delhi, May 10: India has officially confirmed a ceasefire agreement with Pakistan, marking a major step toward de-escalation between the two nations. The announcement was made during a press briefing by Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri.

“The DGMO of Pakistan called the DGMO of India at 15:35 hours earlier this afternoon. It was agreed between them that both sides would stop all firing and military action on land, air, and sea with effect from 17:00 hours IST,” said foreign secretary Vikram Misri.

This confirmation comes shortly after similar statements from Pakistani leadership and former U.S. President Donald Trump, who said the ceasefire followed a night of talks mediated by the United States. The agreement is being hailed as a significant move toward regional stability.
