The youth has been identified as 24-year-old Taufeeq Ahmad Chopan, son of Ghulam Mohammad Chopan, a resident of Chopan Mohalla, Rainawari. He was working with Majeed Khosa, who was also on the boat during the incident.

According to eyewitnesses, the boat overturned after being hit by sudden powerful winds. Taufeeq managed to push his employer toward safety but was himself swept away by the turbulent waters.
