Trolley Falls at Shopian Construction Site; 1 Dead, 2 Critically Injured

Shopian, April 18: In a tragic accident at a construction site in the Pandit Colony area of Allowpora, Shopian, one labourer lost his life while two others sustained critical injuries after a cement mixture trolley fell from a newly constructed double-storied building on Friday.

According to reports, the deceased and injured workers hail from Kaprin, Kokernag in south Kashmir.

The mishap occurred during ongoing construction work when the trolley carrying cement and materials suddenly tipped and fell from the upper floor.

The injured have been identified as Abdul Rashid Bumla and Farooq Ahmad Bumla. Both were initially taken to District Hospital Pulwama for treatment but were later referred in critical condition to SMHS Hospital in Srinagar for specialized care.

The identification of deceased labourer was not known immediately.

Meanwhile, police have taken cognizance of the incident and are investigating the cause of the accident.
