Srinagar, April 04: As the ruling alliance partners in Jammu and Kashmir convened a crucial meeting at the Deputy Chief Minister’s residence in Gupkar, Pulwama MLA Waheed Para strongly criticized the focus of the discussions, questioning the alliance’s priorities.

The meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, was attended by National Conference (NC) president Dr. Farooq Abdullah, senior leaders, and legislators from NC and Congress, the key alliance partner.

According to sources, the primary agenda was the recent transfer of 48 JKAS officers by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, along with discussions on the political and administrative implications of the move.

However, MLA Waheed Para took to social media to criticize the alliance, arguing that instead of addressing the broader issues concerning Jammu and Kashmir’s political future, the ruling partners were engaged in debates over bureaucratic appointments. He pointed out that the same leaders who had previously justified the role of bureaucrats during a month-long assembly session were now raising concerns over their transfers.

Para further accused the alliance of failing to take a firm stand on crucial matters, including the revocation of Article 370, and alleged that their approach had led to the normalization of the post-August 5 situation in the region. He questioned why 50 MLAs could unite for administrative concerns but not for resisting major political changes in the past.
