Budgam, Mar 28: Police in Budgam have registered an FIR against the organizers and participants of a Youm-e-Quds procession in Sonpah village, Beerwah, for allegedly creating a law and order situation by raising objectionable slogans.
In a media statement, a police spokesman said, a large crowd gathered during the procession under the directions of the organizer and raised objectionable slogans. The sloganeering disrupted public order and blocked the Sonpah-Beerwah road, causing inconvenience to commuters.
Taking cognizance of the incident, Budgam Police registered a case under Sections 126(2) and 189(6) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, vide FIR No. 33/2025 at Police Station Beerwah. Authorities have launched an investigation, and further action will be taken against those involved.
Budgam Police have urged citizens to maintain peace and refrain from any activities that could disrupt public order, the spokesman added.
