Srinagar, Nov 26: A fresh, weak Western Disturbance is set to affect Jammu and Kashmir from the evening of 29 November, bringing a brief period of light to moderate snowfall, particularly in the higher reaches of the Kashmir Valley.

According to Kashmir Weather, the western disturbance is expected to impact Sadhna Top, Gurez Valley, Razdan Top, Zojila Pass, Gulmarg Phase 1 & 2, Sonamarg, Sinthan Top, and Peer Ki Gali. However, the intensity of this weather system will be much weaker than last week’s Western Disturbance.

The most significant snowfall will be seen in the higher reaches of northern districts including Kupwara, Bandipora, Ganderbal, and Anantnag. Snow accumulation is expected to be light in these areas, while the plains will likely experience minimal effects.

A brief rain spell could occur in some lowland areas, but overall, the weather’s impact on the plains is expected to be less.

The disturbance is expected to last for approximately 24 to 36 hours before weather conditions improve from 30 November onwards. While the snowfall may cause temporary disruptions in higher regions, the weather will clear up quickly, marking the end of this short-lived disturbance.
