Baramulla, June 02: A 26-Year-Old youth from Jehangirpora (Shrakawara-Wagoora) area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district died at his apartment in New Delhi yesterday after he suffered a heatstroke during the record-breaking heatwave in the national capital.

Quoting family sources local daily Kashmir Despatch reported that Younis Nazir, son of Nazir Ahmad Malla of Jehangirpora Shakwara, was admitted to DDU hospital in the national capital Delhi when he suddenly fell unconscious at his residential apartment at Shahabad Mohammadpur, near metro station Sector 8, Dwarka New Delhi. However, doctors at the hospital declared him brought dead.

As per the family sources, the deceased was working with HP electronics company in New Delhi.

Meanwhile, Dr. Nandita Pokhriyal, MBBS, MD, Senior Resident, Department of Forensic Medicine, DDU Hospital, Govt. of NCT of Delhi, conducted autopsy on the body of the deceased in the department of forensic medicine, DDU Hospital. At this stage, doctors in their autopsy report have said that the primary cause of death appears to be due to cardiac arrest caused by heat stroke, and the manner of death is natural. However, the final opinion shall be given later after the receipt of the blood sample sent to the FSL, Delhi.

As per the document, a copy of which lies with Kashmir Despatch, after the completion of the autopsy, the body has been handed over to the family for the last rites.

Meanwhile, the family of the deceased has expressed gratitude to the Jammu and Kashmir police and its New Delhi Unit for expediting the medico-legal formalities in the matter. “We are thankful for the help extended by the JK Police and its New Delhi based unit especially DySp Aijaz Ahmad, for helping us out at this difficult time,” Rizwan Ahmad, cousin of the deceased told.
