Srinagar, Feb 29: An elderly man was charred to death in a fire incident in Jamalata area of Srinagar this evening.
Reports reaching Asian News Hub said that fire broke out in a residential house owned by 75-year-old Bashir Ahmad Banday son of Mohammad Yousuf Banday in Jamalata this evening.
They said that with the efforts of fire and emergency, police and locals fire was brought under control, however, the body of the house owner was recovered in a charred condition.
The body was shifted to SMHS hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.
In the incident three residential houses were also damaged and cause of fire was not known immediately.
