Srinagar, Jan 31: An elderly man was charred to death in a fire incident that broke out in a residential house in Jawahar nagar area of Srinagar this evening.
Reports said that the fire broke out in a residential house owned by Bashir Ahmad Parnoo son of Late Mohammad Amin in Jawahar nagar this evening.
They said while clearing the debris, F&ES officials along with police recovered the charred body of the house owner and subsequently shifted the body to hospital for medico-legal formalities.

Meanwhile, police have taken cognizance of the incident and cause of fire was not known immediately, reports added.
