Man booked for hurting religious sentiments in J&K’s Rajouri

A man from Kotranka sub division area of J&K’s Rajouri district has been booked and put behind bars for hurting religious sentiments of a particular community by sharing a sensitive video on social media platform.

Accused is identified as Mohammad Yasir son of Mohammad Aslam resident of Samna Mal, Naga Thub, at present Kotranka.

The accused filmed a video and post it on social media platform hurting religious sentiments of people from a particular community.

The sensitive video was having high potential to disturb peaceful atmosphere in the area.

Taking a stern note of this unlawful act, police has registered a case in FIR 123/2023 U/Ss 153A, 295A, 505(2) IPC, 67 IT Act in police station Kandi and accused has been arrested and put behind bars.

SSP Rajouri Amritpal Singh (IPS) said that maintenance of order and peace in society is prime most priority of police and such acts have no place in society.

He said that time and again, law enforcement agencies have warned people to adhere to rules and refrain from posting any such sensitive content that can disturb peace and order.

SSP Rajouri further said that a zero tolerance policy is there against any such unlawful act and whosoever tries to act unlawful will be dealt with stern action as per law of land.
