Hamam chimney overheating causes mosque blaze in Srinagar’s Saraf Kadal

A mosque in Srinagar’s Saraf Kadal was damaged due to a midnight blaze caused by the overheating of a hamam chimney.

Incharge Divisional Fire Officer told Asian News Hub, Mosque namely Masjid Mahajir Milat double storeyed having three shops in ground floor was involved in fire due to overheating of hammam chimney.

He said, roofing including attic portion and false ceiling, furnishing, Holly books, and windows of first floor were damaged in the fire incident.

Meanwhile, police have taken cognizance of the incident.
