NIT Srinagar features among top 20 technical institutes in ‘India Today’ rankings

NIT Srinagar features among top 20 technical institutes in ‘India Today’ rankings

The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar has been featured among the top technical education institutions across the country in ‘India Today rankings’ released.

According to statement issued to Asian News Hub (ANH), the rankings were released in the latest edition of India Today released on 1st August, 2023. NIT Srinagar has secured 19th place among the top 29 technical institutions across the country.

The ranking are based on several parameters including, Reputation and Governance, Academic Research Excellence, Infrastructure and Living Experience, Personality and Leadership Development, Career Progression, and Placement, Objective Score, and Perception Score.

Director NIT Srinagar, Prof. (Dr.) Prof. Sudhakar Yedla congratulated the Institute’s faculty, students, and non-teaching staff for making the institute’s administration proud by achieving a good rank in India Today rankings.

“It is a proud moment for us that NIT Srinagar has been featured in the Top 20 Technical Education Institutes of the country in recently declared India Today rankings,” he said.

Prof. Yedla said this achievement is a result of the collective effort put into maintaining high standards of education, fostering research and innovation, and creating an inclusive and conducive learning environment.

“Over the past several decades, NIT Srinagar has emerged as a beacon of progress, playing a pivotal role in shaping skilled professionals who contribute significantly to various industries and sectors,” he said.

Prof. Yedla said NIT Srinagar’s impact extends beyond national boundaries through its extensive academic and research collaborations with esteemed foreign and national institutes. These partnerships facilitate knowledge exchange, research advancements, and the cultivation of a global perspective among its students and faculty, he said.

“This ranking should serve as a motivation for NIT Srinagar to continue its journey of excellence. We are determined to reach even greater heights in technical education,” Prof. Yedla said.

Institute’s Registrar, Prof. Syed Kaiser Bukhari said that NIT Srinagar has performed well in India Today Rankings. The improvement in the NIT Srinagar ranking is largely due to improvement in perception which essentially can be credited to continued efforts of all stakeholders, he said.

Prof. Bukhari commended the work put in by Dr. Harveer S. Pali, who was the Nodal Officer for overall rankings. He said there is a lot more to do and such results are encouraging.

“NIT Srinagar is committed to narrowing the divide between society and technology. The impressive results in India Today rankings stand as a testament to our unwavering pursuit of academic excellence and steadfast mission to cultivate a seamless integration of knowledge,” he said.

Prof. Bukhari credited the collective efforts of the faculty members, senior administrative staff, non-teaching personnel, and students for their valuable contributions. He also commended Dr. Harveer S. Pali and his entire team for their outstanding and commendable work.

Nodal Officer for Overall Rankings at NIT Srinagar, Dr. Harveer S. Pali said that the Institute has improved in India Today Rankings.

“This year, we have secured 19th rank, compared to our 24th rank in 2022 and 25th in 2021. We have made substantial improvements across various parameters, and moving forward, we are committed to further enhancing our efforts in this direction,” he added.
