Empowering women through art, Zoya Khan’s murals amplify the voices of our unsung heroines

Zoya Khan, who is leading an international organization—Fearless Collective, said that the mural was made under the theme of women Karigars of Kashmir.

“In this mural, we have made the painting of some women artists, who have made their name in the handicrafts,” Khan said while talking with Asian News Hub (ANH).

The mural art is the universal practice, but it has been made for the first time in Kashmir at such a scale, adding that it is their 52nd mural, which is a community driven exercise and is being funded by the NGO itself.

“In the past three days, people have visited the spot and asked about it. The mural is of common women, which has been made with an intention to give them recognition and appreciation as well,” Khan said, adding that they are the real stars of the City, who have played their role in making the name of Kashmir.

The painting has been made of women, whom we have worked with, she said, adding that they have been appreciating the women for taking the craft forward.
