Baramulla police on Saturday said to have recovered a kidnapped teenage girl within hours and arrested the accused person involved in the abduction from Budgam.
In a statement issued to Asian News Hub (ANH), a police spokesman said that on 21/07/2023, one person (name withheld) lodged a written complaint with Police Post Palhallan stating therein that his daughter’s (name withheld) aged about 16 years has been kidnapped by one person namely Gowhar Abbas S/O Mohd Abbas Wani, a resident of Kralwari Chadoora. To this effect, case FIR under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Pattan.
He said, on this information, Police Post Palhallan swung into action and recovered the abductee within 6 hours from Gamandar Chadoora area of Budgam district and the accused has also been arrested from the spot.
After completing the legal formalities, the abductees were handed over to their legal heirs. Further Investigation of the case is going on, the spokesman added.
