Child Welfare Committee says won’t allow such homes to function without registration
Child Welfare Committee on Tuesday sealed an unregistered charitable trust in Kral Khud area of Habba Kadal, Srinagar and rescued 12 children, who were shifted to the Child Care institutions.
Talking to reporters as per Asian News Hub (ANH), Dr Khair ul Nisa, Chairperson, Child Welfare Committee, said that a charitable trust was found without registration and valid documents today following which an action has been initiated.
The trust has been sealed while 12 children present at the home have been rescued and shifted to Child Care institutions, she said, adding that according to them 25 children have been sent back to homes.
“The home namely Sheikh-ul-Aalam Charitable Trust was functioning without registration from the last eight months and thus has been sealed. We have already sealed one such home with a similar name in Jawahar Nagar and it seems that it is the similar home,” she said.

“Although these homes are pivotal, but we will never appreciate them without registration,” Chairperson said, adding that they met the Chairperson of the trust as well, but they failed to provide any valid document and sought time. “We have given them time to provide the valid documents but till then the home has been sealed,” she said.
