A 40-year-old man from Srinagar on Friday attempted to commit suicide by jumping into river Jhelum, however, he was rescued by river Police near Budshah bridge here.

Officials told Asian News Hub (ANH) that a man hailing from Ikhraj Pora, Rajbagh jumped into river Jhelum from Budshah bridge here.
However, they said that the river police already deployed at the spot rescued him soon after he jumped into the river Jhelum.
Pertinently, the authorities have identified suicide hotspots here where the number of such incidents are on rise.
SP East had told ANH that the river police has been deployed at these spots to prevent the suicide cases.
