At least seven residential houses were damaged in twin fire incidents in Srinagar district on Friday evening.
Joint Director F&ES department, Bashir Ahmad Shah told the news agency Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that six residential houses were partially damaged in a fire incident in Gadood Bagh area of Habbakadal and one residential house was partially damaged in Bemina.
He said one fireman identified as Harmeet Singh was also injured in Habbakadal while dousing the flames, however, cause of fire was not known immediately.
Meanwhile, Srinagar police advised the residents to keep basic fire equipments handy as many fire incidents are being reports in the district.

“There are many incidents of fire being reported in Srinagar distt daily. Citizens are advised to keep basic fire safety equipments handy & also to only use authentic heating appliances. Legal action will be taken as per law against shopkeepers selling fake & duplicate equipments,” police tweeted.
