DG Prisons H.K Lohia murdered in Jammu

Jammu, Oct 04: In a shocking incident, Jammu and Kashmir’s Director General of Prisons, Hemant Kumar Lohia was found dead in mysterious circumstances at his Jammu residence, police said.

A police official told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that dead body of Hemant Lohia, DG Prisons, was found under suspicious circumstances.

He said that first examination of the scene of crime reveals that this was a murder case. “The domestic help with the officer is absconding,” he said

“Forensic teams and crime teams are on spot. Investigation process has begun,” he said.

Meanwhile, senior officers have rushed to the spot.

A 1992—batch IPS officer, Lohia was born in 1965. He was appointed as the DGP, Prisons on August 2022.
